Be Careful What You Wish For

It must have seemed like such a good idea at the time. TK Maxx decided to try a massive snowy stunt by promising one lucky winner their own personal White Christmas, because it never snows in the run-up to Christmas, right? Right? All you had to do was find the pleasingly-long snowglobe in one of their stores, and they will come over to your house and dump a few tons of freshly-made fake snow onto your house and garden.

And then this happened in early December, as a few tons of freshly-made real snow fell on most of the nation.

Ah. TK Maxx, to their credit, took it on the chin, and swiftly re-edited their advert now that the idea of having a snowy garden had suddenly lost its novelty.

Brilliant, and they even followed through on their promise as one family happily received their wonderful wintry windfall.

What we didn’t know was that this was just the beginning of a very snowy winter, and the Beast From The East was just putting its boots on...
