Christmas decorations stepped up a notch in London’s Regent Street as the thoroughfare was studded by overhanging video screens showing off various abstract and festive patterns. Not your boring rectangular screens either - oh no. These circular cogs worked rather well, and raised Regent Street’s game after a few years of uninspiring movie tie-in decorations. Could we be heading into a golden age of inventive street decorations?
Back to the smaller scale, and Dyson had their own take on the Christmas tree. Named the “Ball Ball”, it was a series of vacuum tubes that suspended custom-made baubles by blowing and sucking them. The effect is quite startling.
Starbucks showed off their own creativity. This “Christmas tree” made out of coffee cups may look uninspired, but they light up - if certain tweets are received! A great example of doing something silly just for the fun of it.
Costa Coffee, meanwhile, went off-the-wall in a traditional way. Their Christmas coffee cups were so popular, they made a set of match slippers to go with them! Brings a whole new meaning to dipping your toes in their coffee range...
